The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has taken decisive action against a YouTuber who jeopardized public safety by tampering with railway tracks for online notoriety. Gulzar Sheikh, a content creator with over 200,000 subscribers and more than 250 videos on his channel, was arrested on August 1, 2024, following a series of alarming viral videos.
Sheikh’s videos, which depicted him placing various objects on railway tracks, sparked serious concerns and led to an urgent investigation. The RPF Unchahar unit of Northern Railway, with assistance from local police, identified Sheikh from his online activities and arrested him at his residence in Khandrauli Village, Soraon, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The Director General of the RPF commended the Lucknow Division for their swift and effective response to this dangerous behavior. He emphasized that the legal actions taken against Sheikh are intended to serve as a stern warning to others who might consider compromising railway safety.
The DG RPF reiterated the commitment to uphold railway safety standards and assured the public that any acts endangering the safety of Indian Railways will be met with stringent legal consequences. He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to railway security.
