GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd.) celebrated the 79th Independence Day in Kolkata with grandeur. The event emphasized inclusive language, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and green technology.
Kolkata, August 15, 2025 – Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd. marked the 79th Independence Day with a spirit of patriotism, unity, and inclusive language. The celebration brought together officials, employees, and CISF personnel in a collective tribute to the nation.

In his address, the CMD stated, “Operation Sindoor is a testimony to the Atmanirbhar Bharat policy. Overdependence on foreign systems is no substitute for indigenous technologies, which are essential for safeguarding our sovereignty.”
The ceremony was led by CMDE PR Hari, IN (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE. He was joined by: Cdr Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd.), Director (Shipbuilding) Capt (IN) P. Sunilkumar (Retd.), Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) Shri Abhishek Ranjan, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Pushkar Parashar, Senior Commandant, CISF along with senior officials from GRSE and CISF.
CMD further outlined GRSE’s roadmap, highlighting that several warships and commercial vessels are scheduled for delivery in the coming years. Currently, 40 vessels are under construction, including: 14 warships for the Indian Navy, 9 vessels for export, 17 domestic commercial ships,
GRSE is also working on zero-emission and hybrid-propulsion vessels, strengthening its position as a leader in green technology.
