Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and GIZ Germany, organised an outreach workshop on the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT)—a global initiative aimed at accelerating decarbonisation in heavy industries.
Session brought together senior government officials, public sector leaders, and international representatives from Sweden and Germany to discuss strategies for advancing low-emission industrial development. Discussions focused on international collaboration, innovation, and financial mechanisms to support the shift toward sustainable and climate-resilient industrial practices.

orkshop, attended by over 40 participants from nearly 20 public and private sector organisations, underlined the critical role of industries in achieving India’s climate action goals and global net-zero commitments.
Launched at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019, the LeadIT initiative, supported by the World Economic Forum, works to build synergy between countries and companies with the shared vision of achieving net-zero carbon emissions from heavy industry by 2050.
