New Delhi, July 3, 2026: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the third batch of DAKSH (Development of Aspiration, Knowledge, Succession & Harmony), the flagship leadership development programme jointly organized by the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises and the Capacity Building Commission. The programme aims to prepare the next generation of leaders for India’s Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).
The inaugural ceremony was attended by S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson, CBC; K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises (DPE); K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, NBCC; Alka Mittal; Roop Narayan Sunkar; Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay; Atul Sobti, along with senior government officials, PESB members, and leaders from CPSEs.
The third batch of DAKSH comprises 70 participants from Public Sector Enterprises across diverse sectors. The programme is a 12-month immersive leadership journey designed to equip participants with strategic, behavioural, and transformational competencies required to lead organizations in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven environment.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Jitendra Singh praised SCOPE and CBC for successfully nurturing leadership talent through DAKSH. He noted that several alumni from the previous batches have already been appointed to Board-level positions, reflecting the programme’s growing impact. He encouraged participants to embrace interactive, technology-driven learning and develop a global leadership perspective. The Minister also appreciated the programme’s increasing inclusivity, highlighting the selection of 10 women among the 70 participants.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Radha Chauhan emphasized that the rapid emergence of Agentic AI and evolving technology ecosystems has made citizen-centric leadership more important than ever. She urged participants to make the most of every learning opportunity and return to their organizations as future-ready leaders.
K. Moses Chalai highlighted the significant contribution of Public Sector Enterprises to India’s economy and said that visionary leadership is essential for sustaining their growth. He added that DAKSH provides an ideal platform to identify, nurture, and prepare future leaders for CPSEs.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister, Dr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to capacity building and stated that an organization’s true strength lies in the people it nurtures and the leaders it develops, rather than in its physical assets.
Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, said that DAKSH represents a strong commitment to investing in future leadership. He noted that while exceptional individual leaders have always existed, today’s rapidly changing environment demands strategic thinking, cross-functional expertise, and transformational leadership—qualities that DAKSH is designed to cultivate.
Highlighting the strategic importance of Public Sector Enterprises in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat, Dr. Alka Mittal said that DAKSH aims to develop leaders who are strategic in outlook, ethical in conduct, resilient in character, and committed to public service.
