Grid-India, Yashobhumi, New Delhi is participating in the 18th POWERGEN and Indian Utility Week 2025, to be held from 2 to 4 September. On Yashoobhomi, New Delhi this occasion, a dedicated pavilion will highlight its role in strengthening the credibility of electricity across the country and its role in strengthening grid stability.
In the Markets Planery Session, the Chairman and Managing Director of Grid-India, Mr. S.C. Saxena shared important information on India’s growing power demand and the importance of flexibility in traditional power resources.
He informed that India’s electricity demand will cross 250 GW in 2024 and is expected to reach 260-270 GW in 2025. However, due to cold weather this year, the maximum demand in June 2025 reached 242 GW. Mr. S. C. Saxena emphasized that not only technological progress, but also strong power markets and more operating flexibility are required to ensure grid stability.
The event will showcase its initiatives, technological innovations and achievements in national power transmission, demand management and market development, which confirms its commitment to meet India’s growing energy needs with credibility and stability.
