Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh reviewed the research facilities at CSIR-Sukhjeev Technology Institute (CSIR-IMTech), Chandigarh, including microbi repository, and was informed about the ongoing projects. He highlighted the important role of microorganism technology in biotechnology, which has contributed significantly to India’s industrial revolution. Dr. Singh also accepted India’s growth of bio -economy, which has increased from $ 10 billion in 2014 to more than $ 130 billion in 2024, and is estimated at $ 300 billion by 2030.
Dr. Singh credited Prime Minister Modi’s new Boyi 3 policy to carry forward bio -manufacturing. He said that India’s biotech startups have increased from 50 to around 9,000 today in 2014, which has established India as a global center for biotech innovation. The stores of more than 14,000 microbial strain of CSIR-IMTech are important for research and industry applications.
Connecting the new facilitations including Tulip Garden, Dr. Singh inaugurated New Facilites Including Tulip Garden and Launched the products made by Agricultural-Progtoop Whiling The CSIR-Himalayan Institute of Biolasman Technology (CSIR-IHBT) Palampur. He appreciated the contribution of CSIR-IHBT to National Missions.
He also inaugurated state -P -The -The -Facilites Like Autonomous Greenhouse and Asafetida Seed Production Centers and Laid the Foundation of New Infrastructure to Carry Forward Indian ‘ Ecosystem.
