Jammu, February 14, 2025 – Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, distributed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits and Ayushman health cards to Sewer and Septic Tank Workers (Safai Mitras) under the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) scheme in Jammu.

✅ NAMASTE Scheme – Ensuring safety, dignity, and economic empowerment of sanitation workers.
✅ PPE Kits Distribution – Providing masks, gloves, goggles, and protective gear for worker safety.
✅ Ayushman Health Cards – Enabling cashless and paperless healthcare access for beneficiaries.
✅ Community Outreach – Minister visited ODIC Centre under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) to support rehabilitation efforts.
Reaffirming the government’s ‘Vanchiton Ko Variyata’ initiative, the event highlighted a commitment to uplifting marginalized communities and fostering an inclusive, developed India.
The event was attended by Ms. Sakina Masood (Itoo), Minister for Education & Health (J&K), Shri Shyam Lal Sharma (MLA, Jammu North), Shri Yudvir Sethi (MLA, Jammu East), Shri Arvind Gupta (MLA, Jammu West), and senior officials from NSKFDC and Jammu Municipal Corporation.
