Department of Financial Services (DFS), in coordination with RBI, IRDAI, SEBI, and IEPFA, will launch a three-month nationwide awareness campaign titled “आपकी पूँजी, आपका अधिकार” (Your Money, Your Right) from October to December 2025. The campaign will be inaugurated by the Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister on 4th October 2025 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The initiative brings together financial regulators and institutions, including banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, pension institutions, and government agencies, to educate citizens on unclaimed financial assets.
The campaign aims to inform the public about unclaimed financial assets such as bank deposits, insurance claims, dividends, shares, and mutual fund proceeds, which often remain unclaimed due to lack of awareness or outdated account details. Citizens will receive on-the-spot guidance, step-by-step demonstrations, and digital tools to trace and claim their rightful money.
Campaign will run from October to December 2025, with the official launch on 4th October 2025. Nationwide, with the launch event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and outreach activities across all states and union territories.
By facilitating easy access to unclaimed financial assets, the government aims to empower citizens, enhance financial literacy, and strengthen financial inclusion. The campaign ensures that every rupee saved can reach its rightful owner or legal heir.
Citizens will be guided using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), FAQs, and digital tools developed by respective regulators. A financial inclusion exhibition will also feature interactive stalls from banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, and pension institutions to provide practical guidance on claims and record updates.
