NTPC Khargone, in collaboration with the District Education Department, organized the District-Level Athletics Meet 2024 at Shourya Kridangan in Khargone township. Approximately 600 students from 36 schools participated in the event, which featured 14 events, including races, long jump, high jump, triple jump, discus throw, shot put, javelin, and hammer throw, across U-14, U-17, and U-19 categories. Winners of the events will qualify for the Division Level Athletics Meet scheduled to take place in Bhopal.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Subhasis Bose, BUH (Khargone), alongside Shri P.K. Laad, GM (TS), and Shri V. Mohan, GM (O&M). Shri Bose administered the Oath to instill confidence in all participants. The lighting of the torch marked the official start of the Athletics Meet, symbolizing peace and friendship among competitors.
In his address, Shri Bose emphasized that the primary aim of the event is to foster a culture of togetherness, camaraderie, and team spirit among participants. The atmosphere at Shourya Kridangan was filled with enthusiasm, as athletes displayed great energy and a strong desire to win.
