Indian Naval Ship (INS) Trikand, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, has departed from Alexandria, Egypt, after completing her port call on September 11, during the ongoing deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.
INS Trikand represented the Indian Navy at Exercise Bright Star 2025, a major biennial multilateral military exercise hosted by Egypt and led by the US Central Command. Contingents from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force also joined the exercise, showcasing India’s joint-service capability.
Exercise Bright Star 2025 brought together naval, air, and land forces to strengthen regional security cooperation, interoperability, and preparedness against hybrid threats. The exercise saw participation from India, the United States, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Greece, and Italy.
The port call at Alexandria was held from early September, with INS Trikand departing on 11 September 2025 after completing operational and cultural engagements.
The deployment took place in Alexandria, Egypt, with the sea phase conducted in the Mediterranean waters, testing the operational readiness of participating navies in realistic maritime combat scenarios.
