A meeting of the Regional Language Implementation Committee was held on July 22, 2024, under the chairmanship of General Manager Mr. Ashok Kumar Verma at the Central Rail Electrification Organization in Prayagraj.
In his opening address, the General Manager emphasized the need for 100% compliance with Section 3 (3) across all projects, including the headquarters. He stressed that no office is exempt from this requirement and that it must be adhered to completely. The General Manager also stated that all file notations and correspondence should be conducted in Hindi. He encouraged the projects to carry out the majority of their work in Hindi and to promote various Hindi activities, such as seminars, workshops, and competitions, at both the headquarters and project sites. This would help motivate officials and staff, ensuring the achievement of Hindi language targets.
Additionally, the General Manager congratulated Mr. Sanjay Singh Negi, Chief Electrical Engineer (MP), on receiving the “Railway Minister’s Rajbhasha Silver Medal” for his exemplary and commendable work in language implementation by the Railway Board.
Earlier, Chief Language Officer Mr. S. S. Negi welcomed all the attending officials, including the Chairman (General Manager) and Chief Project Directors. He noted that while the use of Hindi within the organization is substantial, there is always room for improvement. Therefore, there is a need to increase the use of Hindi in computers, emails, and websites, as well as to enhance comment writing and correspondence in Hindi.
The meeting was attended by department heads from the headquarters, including Mr. Yatendra Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer Mr. R. N. Singh, Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer Mr. Upendra Kumar, Chief Electrical Engineer (Operations), and Project Directors, as well as the Deputy Chief Language Officer and contact officers for language from all core headquarters departments. The meeting was conducted and concluded with thanks by Deputy Chief Language Officer Mr. Kalyan Singh.
