BLW Central Hospital, under the direction of General Manager Shri Abhay Bakre and the leadership of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Devesh Kumar, organized a seminar and street play on breastfeeding to mark World Breastfeeding Week. The event featured nursing students from Popular College of Nursing and Paramedical Institute, who presented on the benefits and methods of breastfeeding.
Dr. Devesh Kumar inaugurated the program, noting that World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated globally from August 1 to 7, with this year’s theme being “Closing the Gap – Breastfeeding Support for All.” The aim is to make breastfeeding easier for all mothers, ensuring a healthier future for mothers, children, and society.
Dr. S. K. Sharma, Senior Pediatrician, provided an in-depth discussion on the benefits and techniques of breastfeeding, with over 100 children and their parents, along with hospital paramedical staff, in attendance. The event also addressed various breastfeeding-related issues raised by the parents present.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Madhulika Singh, Senior Divisional Medical Officer; Dr. Minhaj Ahmed, Senior Divisional Medical Officer; Dr. Amit Gupta, Divisional Medical Officer; Dr. Saurabh Sagar, Divisional Medical Officer; Dr. Vishalakshi Mudgal, and included contributions from Mrs. Geeta Kumari Chaudhary and the nursing team comprising.

Popular Nursing College students, including Kavita, Tabrez, Kavita Singh, Rekha, and Priya Gupta, also played a crucial role in making the event successful.
