Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of the country’s leading public sector banks, organized a nationwide inter-bank seminar on digital banking along with a conference of chairpersons from town official language implementation committees associated with the bank. The event was held at the bank’s head office in Gurugram under the leadership of the honorable Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Atul Kumar Goel. The chief guest for the event was Mrs. Anshuli Arya, IAS, Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The bank’s Executive Director, Mr. Binod Kumar, was also present at the event. On this occasion, the honorable chief guest and the top executives of the bank unveiled the booklet “PNB Pravah” published by the bank’s official language department.
The Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Goel, emphasized the importance of Hindi as the official language of the country and reaffirmed PNB’s commitment to its promotion and implementation. He highlighted that PNB oversees 28 town official language implementation committees across the country, ensuring efficient coordination. PNB is expanding its business by incorporating Hindi and regional languages in its digital products and remains dedicated to the implementation of the official language.
The chief guest, Mrs. Arya, commended PNB’s efforts in implementing the official language and stated that the bank is setting an exemplary standard in this field. She encouraged everyone to work in simple Hindi and to promote the official language.
During the event, winners of the All India Inter-Bank Essay Competition organized by the bank, along with the best chairpersons and member secretaries of the town official language implementation committees, were awarded by the chief guest, the Managing Director and CEO, and the Executive Director.
