Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Climitra Carbon Private Limited, New Delhi, to strengthen collaboration in research, technology development and innovation in the areas of sustainable carbon materials and clean energy systems.
The partnership aims to promote joint research and development in biomass-based carbon materials, biochar, syngas, gasification-based fuel systems and waste-to-energy technologies. The collaboration will enable lab-to-pilot scale research, process optimisation and co-development of technologies focused on scalable, low-emission and climate-responsive solutions.
The MoU is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange between academia and industry, support translational research and accelerate the deployment of clean technologies addressing energy transition and carbon management challenges.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad; Prof. Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director; Prof. Parthasarathi Das, Dean (R&D); Prof. Shalini Gautam; and Dr. Amrit Anand. Representatives from Climitra Carbon, Shaurya Sharma and Aryaman Mihir Seth, were also present on the occasion.
The collaboration reflects IIT (ISM) Dhanbad’s continued commitment to fostering industry-academia partnerships that support sustainable development, innovation and national clean energy goals.
