Real estate major Lodha has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to make an additional investment of ₹1 lakh crore in data centre infrastructure, taking its total committed investment in the sector to ₹1.3 lakh crore.
MoU was signed to significantly expand Lodha’s data centre footprint in the state, reinforcing Maharashtra’s ambition to emerge as a leading digital infrastructure hub in India.
The initiative is being led by Abhishek Lodha, MD & CEO, Lodha, in partnership with the Maharashtra government, reflecting strong public–private collaboration in the technology infrastructure sector.
The investment is focused in Maharashtra, where Lodha is developing a large-scale data centre park designed to serve domestic and global demand for digital and cloud services.
The proposed data centre park will have a total capacity of 2.5 gigawatts, making it the largest such facility in the country. The project is expected to create over 16,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to job creation across construction, operations, technology, and allied services.
Several global technology players, including Amazon and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, have already acquired land within the park. Their presence highlights growing international confidence in Maharashtra’s policy environment and infrastructure readiness, while accelerating cloud expansion and capital commitment in the region.
The expanded investment is set to boost tech infrastructure, support India’s growing digital economy, and position Maharashtra as a preferred destination for hyperscale data centres, benefiting industries, startups, and communities through inclusive and sustainable growth.
