Lady Harding Medical College (LHMC), Celebrating the achievements of more than 600 graduate students of MBBS, MD, MS, MDS and DM/MCH programs. The program was attended by Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, Mrs. Anupriya Patel as the chief guest. He was accompanied by Dr. V.K. Paul and Director General of Health Services Dr. Sunita Sharma were also present as special dignitaries.
In addition to the chief guests, Dr. Sarita Berry, Director of LHMC at the ceremony; Dr. Anju Seth, Principal; And senior officials of central government hospitals and medical colleges in Delhi-NCR.
The convocation not only served as a celebration of Academic Milestone, but also served as confirmation of LHMC’s long -term commitment for women empowerment and national development through medical excellence. Established 110 years ago, LHMC remains a pioneer in the production of skilled and kind health professionals.
While giving the main speech, Mrs. Anupriya Patel insisted that “Lady Harding Medical College has played an important role in women’s empowerment and nation building. She accepted the contribution of LHMC in sexual equality by continuing only women MBBS students and providing more than 240 graduates and about 200 special degrees annually.
He praised graduates for his flexibility during the Covid-19 epidemic and reminded him of double privileges and responsibility of the medical profession. He said that doctors are given a lot of respect in the society. Maintaining moral values and serving the underprivileged are necessary duties.
Smt Patel underlined the government’s roadmap in the direction of India developed till 2047, highlighting the centrality of healthcare in this mission. He referred to the major policy changes like National Health Policy 2017 and a close increase of 2% of GDP in the government’s health expenditure, which aims 2.5%. He also underlined digital initiative for improvement in primary health care, expansion of AIIMS and better service distribution through Ayushman Arogya temples.
Dr. VK Paul appreciated the release of a comprehensive antibiotics policy and rational drug use guidelines by LHMC. He emphasized the need for antimicrobial management in institutions and urged LHMC to lead the initiative. He said that this generation has a special responsibility in realizing the dream of developed India.
Dr. Sunita Sharma, considering her three decades of service at LHMC, congratulated the students and urged them to maintain the values of courage, commitment and compassion while starting their medical journey.
