POWERGRID has declared its 400/220 kV Lucknow substation as the first Pink Substation in the region, marking a significant step towards women empowerment in the power sector. Pink substations are operated and led entirely by women executives, reflecting POWERGRID’s commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces and promoting gender equality.
The Lucknow substation is being headed by Kiran Singh, Senior DGM, POWERGRID, who will oversee operations, maintenance, and management of the facility. The inauguration event was attended by Y. K. Dixit, ED (Northern Region – III), along with senior officials of POWERGRID.
This initiative reinforces POWERGRID’s vision of creating equal opportunities for women while highlighting their leadership capabilities in a traditionally male-dominated sector. POWERGRID has consistently been recognized as one of the best places for women to work, integrating diversity and inclusion into its organizational culture.
