Punjab National Bank (PNB), a leading public sector bank in India, celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 across the country, in line with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and this year’s theme, “Promoting Integrity for Prosperity.”
The inaugural ceremony took place at PNB’s corporate office in Dwarka, New Delhi, attended by PNB Chairman Mr. K.G. Ananthakrishnan, MD & CEO Mr. Atul Kumar Goel, Executive Directors (ED) Mr. M. Paramasivam and Mr. Bibhu P. Mahapatra, other board members, and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Mr. Raghvendra Kumar. They paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, honoring his legacy as a symbol of unity and integrity. Mr. Atul Kumar Goel emphasized PNB’s commitment to ethical business practices and led employees in taking the Integrity Pledge.
During the week, PNB organized several outreach and awareness activities, including a cyclothon and walkathon, which were flagged off by CVO Mr. Raghvendra Kumar at the corporate office to raise awareness about corruption risks.
In addition, a health check-up camp was set up in collaboration with a local hospital. Various in-house competitions, including essay and jingle writing, and poster-making contests, were also organized for employees and their families.
In his message on PNB’s social media handles, CVO Mr. Raghvendra Kumar stressed the importance of vigilance, stating, “The guidelines established by the Commission serve as a foundation for the nation’s continuous progress. This year, the Commission launched a three-month campaign focused on five key areas: capacity-building programs, identification and implementation of systematic improvement measures, updating circulars and guidelines, timely resolution of complaints received before June 30, 2024, and enhancing our digital presence. PNB has aligned its initiatives with the Commission’s objectives to ensure the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and support for a robust framework that promotes a transparent and sustainable system for the nation.”
