Sandeep Kumar | September 9, 2025 – Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has announced its support for the Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) in the North East region through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. A memorandum of the Agreement (MOA) was signed on 8 September 2025 between the ONGC Foundation and Assam Volleyball Mission 100 to formalize this cooperation.
Partnerships include ONGC Foundation and Assam Volleyball Mission 100, working together to promote grassroots sports and youth empowerment.
The initiative will support the Brahmaputra Volleyball League, a community-managed sports platform that provides opportunities for young athletes, focusing special focus on the rural and remote areas of Assam and the wide North East.
The MOA was signed on 8 September 2025, marking the beginning of this long -term cooperation.
The program will benefit youth in North Eastern states of India, with a strong presence in Assam through the established network of BVL.
The purpose of cooperation is to empower over 8,000 young athletes, strengthen local communities, and promote inclusive growth through the transformational power of the game. It also aligns with the commitment of ONGC for social responsibility, permanent development and youth development.
• ONGC, through its CSR structure, will provide financial and institutional assistance to the Brahmaputra Volleyball League.
• The program will promote volleyball at the ground level, which will create structured opportunities for boys and girls.
• Training, mentorship, and community engagement will ensure a permanent effect on youth empowerment, teamwork and community flexibility.
This initiative not only promotes sports culture in the North East, but also contributes to nation-building through youth development. This reflects the great vision of strengthening ONGC communities and nurturing future leaders through inclusive CSR initiatives.
