On August 24, 2024, ONGC achieved a major milestone by commencing production from its fifth oil well in the Block KG-DWN-98/2 Cluster-2 asset. Utilizing the floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel, ONGC has started transporting and selling associated gas, highlighting its commitment to eliminating gas flaring.
Additionally, the company has successfully launched its gas export pipeline, connecting the offshore facilities to the onshore terminal. Earlier this year, in January, oil production began from the same asset, with four out of thirteen wells already operational. Gas production is progressing as well, with three out of seven wells currently online. ONGC continues to focus on self-sufficiency, supported by six water injection wells that are boosting output.
