NTPC is proudly showcasing its latest innovative and sustainable initiative, the ‘Sukh’ Eco-house, at the India International Trade Fair (IITF), being held from November 14th to 27th, 2024.
The ‘Sukh’ Eco-house is a pioneering in-house initiative aimed at utilizing fly-ash, a by-product of thermal power plants, to construct ecological and affordable housing. Comprising 80% fly-ash in its structure, these homes are powered by solar energy, offering a truly sustainable living solution. A 1 BHK unit costs approximately ₹1.5 lakh, making it a cost-effective housing option.
By using fly-ash-based building materials, ‘Sukh’ Eco-houses eliminate the need for cement and natural aggregates, significantly reducing carbon emissions and preventing topsoil erosion. These homes also comply with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) design standards, making them a viable solution for affordable rural housing.
Through the ‘Sukh’ Eco-house initiative, NTPC is not only providing an affordable and eco-friendly housing option but also utilizing waste to conserve precious natural resources.
