Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, organised a five-day workshop on “Leveraging Digital Technology in School Education” from October 6 to 10, 2025, in New Delhi. The programme brought together 39 faculty members from various NCERT constituent units, including Regional Institutes of Education (RIE), Demonstration Multipurpose Schools (DMS), Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), and the National Institute of Education (NIE).
The workshop was designed to strengthen educators’ capacity to integrate digital tools into classroom learning, in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The inaugural session was attended by senior academicians — Prof. Amarendra P. Behera, In-Charge Joint Director, CIET-NCERT; Prof. Sharad Sinha, Head, DTE-NCERT; Prof. Indu Kumar, Head, DICT, CIET-NCERT; and Prof. Rajendra Pal, Head, MPD, CIET-NCERT — who highlighted the importance of digital literacy and innovation in school education.
Over the course of the workshop, sessions led by eminent experts explored emerging digital pedagogies, technology integration strategies, and innovative practices in teaching–learning. Participants also visited the Experiential Learning Centre, Audio and Video Studios, and the Rashtriya Vidya Samiksha Kendra (RVSK), gaining hands-on exposure to technology-enabled educational environments.
Valedictory session, chaired by Prof. Indu Kumar, emphasised the growing role of technology in transforming education and commended participants for their enthusiastic involvement. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Angel Rathnabai from CIET-NCERT.
