New Delhi | September 1, 2025 (PIB): The Department of Posts (DoP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ESRI India Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a leading Geographic Information System (GIS) software and solutions provider, to enhance the DIGIPIN initiative.
Department of Posts and ESRI India at an event held at Dak Bhawan, New Delhi. Senior officials, including Shri Harpreet Singh, Member (Operations), DoP, and Mr. Agendra Kumar, Managing Director, ESRI India, were present on the occasion.
ESRI India’s high-resolution imagery and street basemaps into its DIGIPIN portal. The collaboration also enables DIGIPIN’s integration with ESRI’s Living Atlas portal, expanding its reach to the wider GIS community. ESRI India will additionally provide technical support to ensure seamless integration.
DIGIPIN system more robust, accurate, and citizen-friendly by leveraging advanced mapping solutions. This will strengthen service delivery, improve digital addressing systems, and support India’s broader push towards digital transformation.

ESRI’s mapping expertise with the DoP’s extensive nationwide network, DIGIPIN is expected to deliver precise, accessible, and user-friendly addressing solutions. This will boost citizen engagement, government efficiency, and ground-level implementation of digital services across the country.
