PIB New Delhi, September 1, 2025 – In a significant leadership transition, Air Commodore Venkateshwaran Krishna Kumar today assumed command of Air Force Station Bani Camp, Najafgarh, as the new Air Officer Commanding. He succeeded Air Commodore Amit Agrawal, who handed over the reins on September 1, 2025.
Commissioned into the AE(L) branch of the Indian Air Force on 22 November 1998, Air Commodore Krishna Kumar has served the nation with distinction for more than two decades. He holds a Master of Science in Defence & Strategic Studies from Madras University and an M. Tech from the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune.
During his illustrious career, he has held several key operational and technical appointments. His international assignments include a deputation to Tajikistan with the Indian Military Training Team (Air Force) and a specialised service course in Italy. His exemplary service has earned him commendations from both the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief and the Chief of the Air Staff.
Known as an engineer by profession and sportsman at heart, Air Commodore Krishna Kumar brings with him dynamic leadership and vast professional experience, strengthening the operational readiness of the Air Force Station.
On this occasion, Mrs. Pushkala Krishna Kumar also assumed the role of President, Air Force Families Welfare Association (Local), taking charge from Mrs. Seema Agrawal.
The Change of Command ceremony at Bani Camp marks not only a continuation of service excellence but also a reaffirmation of the Indian Air Force’s commitment to professional leadership and family welfare.
