Marking a significant step in India’s clean energy transition, a Coffee Table Book on Compressed Bio Gas (CBG), brought out by Oil India Limited under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, was released today in New Delhi. The publication was unveiled in the presence of senior leadership from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
The Coffee Table Book documents the emergence and scaling of India’s Compressed Bio Gas ecosystem, presenting a comprehensive narrative of policy evolution, institutional frameworks, and public sector-led implementation. It highlights how CBG is being positioned as a sustainable energy solution that supports waste-to-energy conversion, emission reduction, and circular economy objectives.
The publication traces the journey of CBG from early policy conceptualisation to on-ground execution, emphasising the role of central public sector enterprises in translating national energy priorities into operational infrastructure. It captures best practices, governance models, and operational learnings that are shaping CBG into a dependable component of India’s long-term energy mix.
By showcasing successful projects, stakeholder collaboration, and regulatory support mechanisms, the book underscores the growing maturity of the CBG sector as both an environmental and economic enabler. It also reflects the alignment of bio-energy initiatives with national goals such as energy security, climate action, and sustainable development.
The release of the Coffee Table Book reinforces the government’s commitment to advancing cleaner fuels and highlights the importance of coordinated policy, institutional capability, and execution discipline in building future-ready energy infrastructure for the country.
