Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been formally inducted as the designated aviation security agency at Noida International Airport (NIA), marking a major milestone in the airport’s journey toward operational readiness ahead of its commercial launch. The induction positions NIA as the 70th airport in India to come under CISF security cover.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, CISF, and Noida International Airport, including Special DG Airports, CISF Praveer Ranjan, IG/Airport Sector Senthil Avoodai Krishna R, CEO NIAL Rakesh Kumar Singh, COO NIA Kiran Jain, Nodal Officer NIAL Shailendra Bhatia, and Regional Director RO Delhi Sanjay Kataria.
Under CISF oversight, the Airport Sector (APS) and Aviation Security Group (ASG) will manage perimeter and access control, passenger and baggage screening, terminal and landside security, deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs), and coordination with local law enforcement agencies. In the first phase, 1,047 CISF personnel will be deployed under a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO), with deployment strength increasing in line with passenger traffic and flight operations.
Special DG Airports, CISF Praveer Ranjan, said that the force is committed to implementing globally benchmarked security procedures and layered measures to safeguard passengers, crew, and critical airport assets, while collaborating closely with the airport operator and stakeholders.
COO, Noida International Airport Kiran Jain highlighted that CISF induction is a key step in the airport’s preparedness. She emphasized that security is central to offering safe, seamless, and world-class passenger experiences and expressed confidence in maintaining uncompromising standards of aviation safety in partnership with CISF.
With CISF formally assuming security responsibilities and airline partners gearing up to commence operations, Noida International Airport is set to emerge as a world-class aviation hub for the National Capital Region and surrounding areas, strengthening India’s aviation infrastructure.
