BEML Limited organised an in-depth talk on cyber security, cyber hygiene and national security at its Corporate Office as part of its Vigilance Awareness Programme to strengthen capacity-building initiatives across the organisation.
The keynote address was delivered by Yashovardhan Azad, IPS (Retd.), former Secretary (Security) to the Government of India, former Central Information Commissioner, and former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau. He shared incisive insights on safeguarding cyberspace in today’s fast-evolving digital landscape.
The session attracted more than 250 participants, including senior executives, officers, non-executives from BEML divisions and regional offices, as well as Chief Vigilance Officers from other public sector undertakings and allied organisations.
Emphasising the importance of strong passwords, regular system updates, and robust data-protection practices, the speaker outlined practical steps to maintain sound cyber hygiene. He also stressed that cyber security requires collective responsibility, highlighting the need for resilient institutional frameworks, advanced technologies, and collaboration across government, industry, academia, and citizens to build a secure and resilient cyber ecosystem.
The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, reinforcing BEML’s commitment to raising awareness and fostering a culture of cyber resilience within and beyond the organisation..
