BEML Limited and the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a premier Deemed University under the Ministry of Defence, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive innovation and academic excellence in the defence and aerospace sectors.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director, BEML, and Dr. BHVS Narayana Murthy, Vice-Chancellor, DIAT. It was formally signed by M.G.G. Raju, Executive Director (HR), BEML, and Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Kale, Dean – Sponsored Research, DIAT, with senior leadership from both institutions attending the ceremony.
Under this strategic partnership, BEML and DIAT will collaborate on cutting-edge research in robotics, quantum communication, aerospace systems, and next-generation defence and marine technologies. Key initiatives include:
- Joint academic programs leading to postgraduate and doctoral degrees
- Case studies, white papers, and research articles for knowledge dissemination
- Industry immersions, capsule programs, and internships for DIAT scholars at BEML
- Doctoral enrolments sponsored by BEML to strengthen advanced research capacity
Leaders from both organisations emphasized that the alliance will create a robust ecosystem of research and innovation, reinforcing India’s technological self-reliance in defence and aerospace.
This MoU underscores BEML’s commitment to building future-ready defence and aerospace technologies, while enabling DIAT to expand its academic and research impact on a national and global scale.
