One of India’s leading public sector banks, Bank of Baroda organized a mega camp in Amhat village in Sultanpur district on 23 August 2025 as part of the financial inclusion saturation campaign launched by the Financial Services Department (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The nationwide campaign, which runs from 1 July to 30 September 2025, aims to obtain 100% coverage of financial inclusion and social security schemes in Gram Panchayats (GP) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

Nagaraju, IAS – Secretary, DFS, Ministry of Finance; Mr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Baroda; Mr. Ankur Kaushik, IAS, Chief Development Officer, Sultanpur; Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh, Convenor, SLBC Uttar Pradesh and Zonal Head, Lucknow Zone; And Mr. Mithilesh Kumar, General Manager and Zonal Head, Varanasi region. More than 1,000 local citizens actively participated in the event.
In his main speech, Mr. M Nagaraju stressed that the financial inclusion is at the center of the government’s approach to empower citizens, especially the deprived classes through equal access to banking and social security schemes like PMJDY, PMJBY, PMSBY and APY. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensure that no eligible beneficiaries are left behind.
MD and CEO of Bank of Baroda, Mr. Debdutt Chand underlined that financial inclusion does not only mean opening bank accounts, but also to empower people to effectively use formal financial services. He said that the Sultanpur camp shows the bank’s commitment to create confidence in India’s development saga and strengthen community participation.
During the program, claim checks, insurance certificates and enrollment receipts were distributed under major schemes. KYC campaigns were re -carried out under PMJDY accounts, while business reporters (BC) and BC Sakhis were honored for their outstanding contribution.
The mega camp saw the active participation of representatives of all banks under SLBC Uttar Pradesh, which outlines the collective resolution of the banking fraternity to carry forward the mission of universal financial reach for all and the Government of India of Social Security.
