The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in a significant move to bolster global employer cooperation and promote responsible business practices, held a high-level strategic meeting with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE).
SCOPE leadership, led by Mr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD, NBCC, and Mr. Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, convened a focused strategic discussion with Mr. Roberto Suárez Santos, Secretary General, IOE (Geneva); Ms. Michiko Miyamoto, Director, ILO South Asia; and Mr. Ravindra Peiris, Senior Specialist, ILO, along with senior representatives from ILO and SCOPE.
The meeting brought together top-level executives and specialists from three major international and national bodies—SCOPE, ILO, and IOE with a shared goal of empowering Indian employers in alignment with global best practices.
The dialogue emphasized the need for close cooperation between Scope, ILO and Ioe in the areas of capacity building for employers in India. The major focus areas identified include increasing awareness about micro -immunity. skill development, just changes. and responsible business conduct – all these are essential elements for sustainable and inclusive industrial development.
Both ILO and Ioe provided full support in the efforts to strengthen the SCope’s employer network. The two organizations agreed to hold continuous participation initiatives, collaborative workshops. and training sessions with the aim of promoting a modern, skilled, and responsible employer community in India.
This strategic dialogue is a step ahead of Indian public sector enterprises with international labor standards and global employer trends, which reflects the constant commitment of Scope towards progressive, collaborative, and moral industrial development.
