The 4th Hockey India Senior Women’s Inter Department National Championship 2024 was inaugurated today at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. The ceremony was led by Shri Pankaj Jain, Secretary, MoP&NG, accompanied by Shri V. Satish Kumar, Chairman, IOCL, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, Padma Shri & President, Hockey India, and a host of eminent hockey legends.

During the event, Shri Jain lauded the zeal and dedication of the 12 participating teams, and highlighted the progress of Indian hockey on the global stage. He recognised Indian Oil Corporation Limited as a vital force in the development of women’s hockey and reminded the players that they are a source of inspiration for the young girls of India.
At the inaugural ceremony, Mr Jain distributed hockey sticks to 30 young girls of One Thousand Hockey Legs (OTHL), the flagship programme of Hockey Citizens Group. Hockey legends like Harbinder Singh, Ajit Pal Singh, Zafar Iqbal and others were also present on the occasion, who are driving the future of Indian hockey by inspiring the next generation.
