Rampur Hydro Power Station Achieves Fastest-Ever 2,000 MU Generation in FY26

SJVN has set a new operational benchmark with its 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station (HPS) achieving the fastest-ever generation of 2,000 million units (MU) in a financial year. The milestone was reached on February 5, 2026, nine days earlier than the previous record achieved on February 14, 2020, marking the station’s best generation performance in the past eleven years.

The achievement highlights sustained operational efficiency and reflects improved plant performance during FY26. Since its commissioning, Rampur HPS has consistently delivered strong generation outcomes, supported by robust engineering design, disciplined maintenance practices, and effective coordination across operational teams.

SJVN acknowledged the collective efforts of employees and stakeholders involved in achieving this milestone, noting that consistent teamwork and adherence to operational discipline played a crucial role. The performance was also attributed to effective planning, inter-departmental coordination, and optimized utilization of available resources.

The record generation further underscores the role of sound operational management supported by prudent financial planning, enabling the plant to maximize output while maintaining reliability and safety standards. Over the years, Rampur HPS has emerged as a key contributor to SJVN’s hydro portfolio and a reliable source of clean energy for the grid.

Located in Himachal Pradesh, the station continues to play an important role in meeting regional power demand while supporting India’s clean energy transition. The latest milestone reinforces SJVN’s focus on operational excellence, efficiency-driven performance, and sustainable power generation.

With this achievement, Rampur HPS strengthens SJVN’s position as a leading hydropower producer and demonstrates how established assets can continue to deliver enhanced value through disciplined operations and continuous performance improvement.
