The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the Advanced Management Development Programme (AMDP) under the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) of the Development Commissioner, MSME, Government of India, with a valedictory ceremony held at its Jagti Campus.
The five-day residential programme, conducted from 02 to 06 January 2026, brought together 26 existing entrepreneurs from diverse sectors, reflecting the breadth and dynamism of India’s MSME ecosystem. The initiative was designed to enhance managerial competence, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills to support sustainable growth and competitiveness.
Addressing the participants, the Dean (Faculty and Research) highlighted that the Institute’s mandate goes beyond management education to fostering entrepreneurship and enterprise creation. Emphasis was placed on capacity-building initiatives undertaken in collaboration with MSME bodies and skill development institutions, including the establishment of incubation centres in Jammu & Kashmir and Leh. Participants were described as key agents of change whose success would create a wider multiplier effect.
An overview of the Institute’s Executive Education and Consultancy initiatives was also presented, outlining customised academic and professional programmes aimed at entrepreneurs, executives, and working professionals. The Programme Director shared that 20 structured sessions were delivered over five days, meeting the programme’s learning objectives and offering practical, actionable insights.
Participants reflected that the programme served as a catalyst for personal and professional growth, reinforcing the idea that perspective shapes outcomes—summed up by the thought “Yathā dṛiṣṭi, tathā sṛiṣṭi.”
Aligned with the theme “Capacity to Competitiveness: Strategize, Sustain and Scale,” the programme focused on strategy, operations, finance, innovation, and market orientation through expert-led sessions, case discussions, experiential learning, and peer interactions.
The programme was organised by the Centre for Small Business Development Unit (SBDU) and executed by Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, reinforcing the Institute’s role in strengthening MSMEs and contributing to India’s vision of self-reliance, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.
