Raksha Mantri called on the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, in New Delhi today, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the two democracies. The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in defence, cyber security, and capacity building, highlighting the shared commitment to peace and regional prosperity.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized that defence remains a cornerstone of India-Mongolia relations, with bilateral engagements encompassing joint working group meetings, military-to-military exchanges, training programmes, high-level visits, and bilateral exercises. The discussions also acknowledged the progress made in enhancing the capabilities of the Mongolian Armed Forces, with India providing technical and cyber security support.
Mongolian President expressed gratitude for India’s collaboration in security and recalled the groundbreaking ceremony of Mongolia’s Oil Refinery Project, inviting the Raksha Mantri and the Prime Minister to participate in its inauguration. In response, the Raksha Mantri highlighted the warm hospitality received during previous visits to Mongolia in 2018 and 2022.
Meeting coincides with the 70th anniversary of India-Mongolia diplomatic relations, reinforcing the importance of bilateral ties and shared strategic interests. The Mongolian President is on an official visit to India from October 13–16, 2025, to mark this milestone and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.
