The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) hosted the “CMA Achievers’ Meet: Vision 2030” at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was graced by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Jayanta Kumar Roy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament. Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, participated as a Special Guest, sharing a forward-looking vision for ICMAI’s contribution to India’s economic growth.
In his address, Shri Das urged ICMAI to establish itself as a “CEO & CFO resource center of India” by focusing on strategic supply-side interventions. He emphasized the importance of modernizing the curriculum to meet global standards, proposing the inclusion of emerging domains such as digital costing, artificial intelligence, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), export accounting, and global fundraising to prepare professionals for the rapidly evolving industry landscape.
Shri Das also highlighted the need for fostering interpersonal development through collaborations with executive coaches. On the demand side, he advocated for stronger corporate partnerships to co-create industry-relevant programs and certifications. “Adopting Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytical tools can empower CMAs to deliver innovative cost management solutions, which are vital for India’s sustainable growth,” he remarked.
Further, Shri Das underlined the importance of renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and energy security in achieving the Government of India’s vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047. He stated, “A greener economy, driven by a holistic approach, not only addresses the nation’s energy requirements but also tackles the pressing challenges of climate change and resource conservation. Together, we can realize the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
