Yoga may reduce risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 40%, says report presented to Health Minister: Dr. Jitendra Singh.

“Prevention of yoga and type 2 diabetes” suggests that regular yoga practice can reduce the risk of development of type 2 diabetes in high -risk individuals by up to 40%. The report was formally presented to Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda and supported by Union Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who is also a famous diabetes expert.

The event was held in New Delhi, in which senior officials of the Ministry of Health and members of the Research Society for the Studies of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) were present.

The study has been conducted under the aegis of RSSDI, a leading organization of diabetic researchers in India, and it is led by Dr. S. V. Madhu has done. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh commented on the importance of study for the National Health Policy.

The report focuses on the established role of yoga in the management of diabetes, especially among individuals with family history or genetic tendency. Dr. Singh highlighted it as a significant development in India’s push towards strengthening preventive healthcare under the comprehensive approach of developed India.

The conclusions are based on non-thinishly comments compiled by RSSDI. Specific yoga asanas (asanas) have been identified as beneficial. Although clinical tests have not yet been done, this study is one step ahead in validation of India’s traditional welfare practices through modern scientific investigation. Dr. Singh also informed that similar research initiatives are going on under the Department of Biotechnology.
