Rishikesh – Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development, THDC India Limited, a Mini Ratna public sector undertaking, has rolled out a series of initiatives under the nationwide Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign–2025. The campaign aims to foster community participation, promote environmental stewardship, and strengthen the ethos of cleanliness across its offices and project sites.
R. K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL emphasized that cleanliness and sustainability are integral pillars of the Corporation’s operations. He highlighted that THDCIL, while being a leading integrated power generation entity, is dedicated to ensuring its growth aligns with national missions such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Vishnoi added that Swachhata is not merely an activity but a collective responsibility, reflecting the Corporation’s vision for a cleaner and greener India.
On 17th September 2025, Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance), administered the Swachhata Pledge at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh, urging employees to dedicate one hour of voluntary service under the nationwide initiative ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’. Following this call, employees across THDCIL actively participated in Shramdaan and related activities.
At the NCR Office premises in Kaushambi, the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ initiative was conducted in the presence of Rashmita Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer, THDCIL. Employees engaged actively, reinforcing the spirit of unity and collective responsibility towards cleanliness. Senior officials including Neeraj Verma, ED (I/C, NCR), and S. K. Arya, Dy. CVO, were also present.
In Rishikesh, a Cleanliness Drive was held on 24th September 2025 near the New Bus Stand, with Shambhu Paswan, Mayor of Rishikesh, appreciating THDCIL’s proactive efforts in promoting sanitation and sustainable development. The location has been formally adopted as a Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU), to be regularly maintained by THDCIL for a healthier environment. Dr. Amarnath Tripathy, Chief General Manager (HR), and other senior officers participated in the drive.
Across its projects and offices, THDCIL conducted a range of activities including Prabhat Pheri by school students at Khurja, Poster Making and Best from Waste exhibitions at Tehri, Cleanliness Drives at VPHEP Office, and Health Camps organized by the VPHEP Dispensary. These initiatives underscore THDCIL’s sustained commitment to community engagement, environmental awareness, and the promotion of sustainable practices across its operational footprint.
