In a significant step supporting India’s Net-Zero 2070 commitments, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) launched its report and digital portal titled “Enabling Access to Knowledge on Advanced Building Materials and Design Towards Energy-Efficient Buildings” at the Technology and Innovation Conclave 2.0.
The launch was held at Prithvi Bhavan, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, under the conclave theme “AI for Climate Action and Resilience”. The Energy Smart Materials portal was inaugurated by Dr Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences.
The event brought together senior national and international leaders, including Dr N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, DSIR and Director General, CSIR; Mr Stefan Priesner, United Nations Resident Coordinator in India; Dr Preeti Soni, Head, APCTT; and Dr M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences.
Developed under the A2K+ programme of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), the portal serves as a centralised digital repository of advanced building materials and design knowledge. It aims to bridge the gap between research, innovation and on-ground application in the construction sector.
The initiative provides a critical knowledge and data platform to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient and climate-resilient building practices, supporting India’s transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon built environment.
