Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) have entered into a five-year Master Regasification Agreement (MRA) under which PLL will provide LNG regasification services to ONGC at its Dahej LNG terminal. The agreement includes a provision for extension by mutual consent.
Under the arrangement, ONGC will utilize PLL’s regasification infrastructure to supply regasified natural gas to meet the requirements of its downstream consumers. The agreement supports ONGC’s strategic intent to expand its presence in gas marketing by importing LNG and supplying regasified LNG for both market and captive consumption.
The partnership aligns with India’s expanding gas ecosystem, driven by the growth of gas pipeline infrastructure, city gas distribution (CGD) networks, and LNG regasification capacity, and aims to supplement domestic gas production with LNG-based supplies to meet rising demand across sectors.
The MRA was signed on 27 January 2026 during India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, in the presence of Shri Akshay Kumar Singh, Managing Director & CEO, Petronet LNG Limited, and Shri Arunangshu Sarkar, Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs), ONGC.
