The President of India, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu attended the silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh Assembly in Raipur today (24 March 2025).
Addressing the function, the President appreciated the establishment of the democratic traditions of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly to the highest standard. He specifically exposed the rule of the assembly to self -suspend the members who enter the well during the proceedings of the House, and reported that the rule has been continuously implemented. The President also expressed happiness that marshal had never had to be used in the last 25 years. The President described the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly as a unique example of excellent parliamentary conduct for democratic systems around the world.
The President appealed to women MLAs to support other women. He said that when women promote other women working in various fields, it attracts everyone’s attention and paves the way for their progress. He said that whether they are teachers or officers, social workers or entrepreneurs, scientists or artists, workers or farmers, often our sisters create their identity in the outside world by fulfilling day-to-day responsibilities. When all women empower each other, our society will become stronger and sensitive.
The President said that Chhattisgarh has immense potential for development. There are adequate development opportunities in areas such as cement, mineral industry, steel, aluminum and power generation. This beautiful state is rich in lush green forests, waterfalls and other natural resources. He requested state policymakers to ensure environmental protection by moving forward on the path of development. Also, make sure that all sections of society are linked to modern development routes.
