New Delhi, 29 March 2025: India’s President Smriti Draupadi Murmu inaugurated a two -day national conference on ‘Environment – 2025’ in New Delhi today. The purpose of this conference is to discuss the major challenges related to the environment, share the best practices and cooperate on future action plans for sustainable environmental management.
In the inaugural address, the President said that all the environment -related awareness campaigns give us the message that we should make these objectives and programs a part of our daily life. Environmental protection and enhancement is possible only when we work actively with constant awareness and participation of all.
The President insisted that we have to give up the legacy of a clean environment for the coming generations. He said, “We think about better education and career for our children, but we should also think what kind of air our children will breathe in the air, which water will drink, and whether they will be able to experience the beauty of green forests.”
The President said that in India’s cultural heritage, the basis of development is not exploitation, but nutrition and protection. He also stated that in the last decade, India has successfully completed many examples of its national prescribed contributions (NDCs) under international agreements.
The President also acknowledged the significant contribution of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to the environmental rule and called upon all institutions and citizens associated with environmental management to make continuous efforts for environmental protection.
He said that through the Green initiative of India, many examples have been presented to the world, and we are confident that India will carry out the Green leadership globally with the participation of all stakeholders.
The conference is organized by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), in which the leading stakeholders were converted to the future direction for environmental stability.
