POWERGRID has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Haryana State Development and Panchayat Department to facilitate the construction and restoration of crematoriums and burial grounds in rural areas of Haryana. This initiative is part of the Shiv Dham Yojana, aimed at enhancing infrastructure in villages.
The MoU signing ceremony took place in the presence of Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri R. K. Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director of POWERGRID, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID, along with senior dignitaries, officials from POWERGRID, the Government of Haryana, and the district administration of Gurugram.
The Shiv Dham Yojana is set to benefit 503 villages and 658 sites across four districts of Haryana: Kurukshetra, Panipat, Karnal, and Rewari, contributing significantly to rural development and community welfare.
