In a significant step toward enhancing the reliability and stability of the power supply in Delhi NCR, POWERGRID has successfully charged the 400 kV Maharani Bagh–Narela Multi-Circuit Transmission Line. This critical infrastructure upgrade is expected to bolster the region’s transmission capacity and support uninterrupted electricity delivery to consumers.
The line was energised in the presence of Rajeev Verma, Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi; R. K. Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director, POWERGRID; G. Ravisankar, Director (Finance); Naveen Srivastava, Director (Operations); Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, Director (Projects); Alok Kumar Sharma, Executive Director, NR-I; along with senior officials from POWERGRID and the Delhi government.
The commissioning of this transmission line marks a major milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen the capital region’s grid infrastructure and ensure a more robust, efficient, and future-ready power system.
