Ladakh, August 2025 – NHPC Ltd. successfully concluded Project Shiksha Rath 7.0, its flagship CSR initiative, across seven border villages of Ladakh along the Line of Control (LOC). The programme reinforced NHPC’s commitment to nation-building, skill empowerment, and inclusive language-driven growth.
The closing ceremony at Government Higher Secondary School, Turtuk, Nubra, UT of Ladakh was graced by Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC; Councilor Shri Gulam Mehndi; the Village Pradhan; along with villagers, Self Help Group (SHG) women and students.
Certificates were awarded to 30 women who successfully completed a 7-day Master Training Workshop in tailoring and sewing. The workshop was supported by Usha International (Silai School), with NHPC providing sewing machines, resources, and infrastructure under its CSR programme.
The concluding ceremony was held in August 2025. Government Higher Secondary School, Turtuk, Nubra, Union Territory of Ladakh.
The project was designed to empower women and local communities with vocational skills, fostering self-reliance and community participation while promoting inclusive language and equal opportunities.
The initiative was implemented by the Samaarambh Foundation, which ensured smooth execution through strong coordination with local stakeholders, panchayats, and authorities. By integrating skill-building with inclusivity, the project created a platform where every participant could contribute to community growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC, said: “Project Shiksha Rath 7.0 is a testament to NHPC’s commitment towards inclusive growth. By providing skills, infrastructure and support, we aim to empower border communities, especially women, to take charge of their future and contribute to nation-building.”
With seven border villages benefiting from the programme, Project Shiksha Rath 7.0 has become a model for community-led, skill-based development in remote areas, highlighting NHPC’s role in CSR excellence and inclusive language-driven empowerment.
