President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid an official visit to India on 19 January 2026 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of India, marking his fifth visit to the country in the past decade and his third as President. During the visit, the two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and reaffirmed that the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has grown steadily stronger over the years.
Both sides welcomed the momentum generated by recent high-level exchanges and endorsed outcomes of key institutional mechanisms, including the High-Level Task Force on Investments and the Joint Commission and Strategic Dialogue meetings. They noted the sharp rise in bilateral trade since the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which reached USD 100 billion in FY 2024–25, and agreed to work towards doubling trade to USD 200 billion by 2032, with a strong focus on MSME connectivity.
The leaders reviewed progress in investment cooperation, energy security, food security, space, science and technology, digital innovation and advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. They also welcomed new partnerships in LNG supply, nuclear energy, infrastructure development and financial sector integration.
Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to defence and security cooperation, counter-terrorism and multilateral engagement. The visit reaffirmed mutual respect for sovereignty and underscored a shared vision for regional stability, sustainable development and people-to-people ties, further deepening the India–UAE strategic partnership.
