11th India International Science Festival (IISF 2025) is set to bring together over 40,000 participants from India and abroad from 6th to 9th December. Under the theme “Vigyan Se Samruddhi: for Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, the festival highlights India’s commitment to science-led development and innovation-driven self-reliance.
Organized by the Ministry of Earth Sciences in coordination with the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, IISF 2025 will feature more than 150 sessions spanning biotechnology, space, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technology, gene editing, and integration of traditional knowledge with modern science. Special focus sessions will include women scientists, students, early-career researchers, and young entrepreneurs.
The festival aims to strengthen India’s science ecosystem by bridging academia, research institutions, startups, and industry while promoting public engagement. Participants will have opportunities to explore exhibitions, B2B interactions, competitions, and cultural programs that showcase innovations and scientific applications across sectors.
Key partner ministries include the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Space (DoS), and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), working collectively to highlight frontier research and technological advancements. Outreach initiatives will be supported by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) to connect schools, colleges, and communities with science activities.
Since its inception in 2015, IISF has grown into one of India’s largest platforms promoting scientific temper and public participation in science. IISF 2025 continues this vision by integrating traditional knowledge with modern innovation, fostering collaborations, and supporting India’s journey toward a self-reliant and globally competitive science and technology landscape.
