National Institute for Smart Government (NISG), in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Directorate of IT, Tripura, organised a high-level conference on “Harnessing AI and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Viksit Bharat” to discuss the transformative potential of technology in governance and public service delivery. EY served as the knowledge partner for the event.
Policymakers, technologists, industry leaders, and experts from government and private sectors participated, including Secretary MeitY, Secretary DFS, CEO UIDAI & NISG, and officials from NEST, DBT Mission, and Digital India BHASHINI Division.
Conference focused on democratising AI and DPI to make technology accessible, affordable, and citizen-centric, with case studies highlighting agriculture, financial inclusion, and sector-specific digital solutions. The NISG-EY report was officially released, highlighting AI-DPI convergence as a driver for economic empowerment and improved governance.
India’s DPI ecosystem—including Aadhaar, UPI, DigiLocker, and other foundational layers—has created a robust digital framework for service delivery. Integrating AI into these systems aims to enhance efficiency, scalability, and citizen trust, supporting India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Panels and keynote sessions discussed sector-specific AI applications, focused models for healthcare, agriculture, finance, and education, and the development of DPI 2.0 to create digital public intelligence. Experts emphasised collaboration among government, private sector, civil society, and academia to build inclusive and reliable digital ecosystems.
The conference underscored that India’s approach to AI and DPI is not only about technology adoption but also about creating solutions that are equitable, transparent, and future-ready, empowering citizens while accelerating the country’s digital and economic growth.
