Union Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh while addressing the Armed Forces Flag Day Corporate Social Responsibility (AFFD CSR) Conference in New Delhi on March 3, 2025 urged citizens to contribute wholeheartedly to the welfare of soldiers and their families. He emphasized that it is the national duty of every citizen to support the welfare of the armed forces.
Shri Rajnath Singh appreciated the soldiers for his unwavering dedication and courage in protecting the country under difficult circumstances. Accepting the government’s commitment to strengthen security and military welfare, he called upon the nation to support the military community and emphasized that CSR should go beyond financial contribution. It should show a deep, heartfelt connection with brave soldiers and their families.
The Defense Minister said that CSR is not only about fulfilling compulsory 2% contribution, but it is about ensuring that the contribution has a meaningful impact. He encouraged corporate heads to focus on the long -term satisfaction of supporting those serving the nation.
He also highlighted the approach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self -reliant India and developed India, and emphasized that private sector participation is important to achieve these goals. Mr. Rajnath Singh expressed confidence that with continuous corporate support, India would secure its place in the top three global economies by 2027.
The minister praised corporate donors for his liberal contribution to the AFFD fund and recognized the top CSR contributors during the program. The Ex -Servicemen Welfare Department of the Ministry of Defense continues its efforts to provide grants for education, healthcare and other necessary needs to war widows, children of martyred soldiers and disabled ex -servicemen.
