BEML Limited. A Defense Public Sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defense has received a strategic order of Rs 293.81 crore for the supply of indigenously designed high dynamics vehicles (HMV) 6×6.
The order involves the production of state-of-the-art High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) 6X6, designed to navigate bumpy areas and high altitude areas. These vehicles are equipped with independent suspension system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) and backbone tube chassis, providing better mobility, safety and durability under highly operating conditions.
The order was given in July 2025, which marks a timely increase in India’s growing list of indigenously developed defense assets under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Manufacturing and assembly will be in the advanced facilities of BEML in Palakkad (Kerala) and Mysore (Karnataka), both are equipped for high precision defense engineering.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) has ordered, while BEML Ltd. Will execute it using its in-house design and development capabilities.
This step strengthens the military spine of the Indian armed forces, increases mobility in sensitive and strategically important areas. It also supports the attitude of self -sufficient India by promoting local manufacturing and technical self -reliance.
Using a combination of advanced design, indigenous materials and proven manufacturing processes, BEML will ensure high-quality, reliable distribution with defense specifications and mission-mental deadline.
This development demonstrates the role of BEML as the lead promoter of India’s engineering skills and national defense preparations.
