The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu held an important Roundtable Conference at Hotel Conrad, Pune, on the theme “Fostering Academia and Industry Partnership: The Way Ahead.” This key event brought together policymakers, academic leaders, and industry experts to explore innovative approaches for enhancing collaboration between academia and industry, adapting to the changing job market, and utilizing technology to equip students with vital skills for their future careers.
A major highlight of the conference was the presence of Chief Guest Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of Maharashtra, along with Guest of Honor Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Vice President of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, both of whom participated in the valedictory ceremony.
The inaugural and closing sessions featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIM Jammu; Shri Shrikant Badve, Board Member; and Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu. The event attracted influential leaders from both academic and industry sectors.
The conference opened with addresses from prominent figures such as Shri Ashok W. Kakade (IAS), Managing Director of SARTHI, Pune, and Shri Kailash Zanzari, Head of Manufacturing at Bajaj Auto Ltd. Shri Rajesh Pande, Advisory Council Member of SPPU Pune and Chairman of the National Yuva Cooperative Society, was also present at the closing ceremony.
In addition to keynote speeches, the conference included three panel discussions featuring a range of industry representatives. This Roundtable Conference represented a significant advance in reinforcing the partnership between academia and industry, providing insights that promise actionable results for both students and businesses.
